Assad Regime Pounds Idlib and Hama Despite the Announced Truce

AleppoTodayTV correspondent reported that Assad forces have targeted the proclaimed de-escalation zones in Idlib and Hama on Friday. Tens of missiles and artillery shells pounded the areas after the truce was announced on Thursday evening during the 13th round of Astana Talks in Sochi.

AleppoTodayTV correspondent: More than 300 missiles and artillery shells were fired by Assad forces centered in Braideej and Shaykh-Hadid in Hama targeting several villages in northern Hama countryside.

In Idlib, missiles and artillery shells targeted the cities of Khan-Shaykhun and Al-Hbit in the southern countryside. Russian and Assad observation jets also remained in in the skies of Idlib and Hama.

The Syrian Civil Defense confirmed that a civilian has been killed in Khan-Shaykhun after the city was targeted with barrel bombs after midnight and that city was struck by 22 artillery shells. The Civil Defense also pointed out that Al-Hbit was struck with 30 artillery shells, as well as the town of Bidama which was stuck with 9 missiles without any reported injuries. 

On Friday the Russian envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentyev called on Turkey and the Syrian opposition to fulfil their obligations under existing agreements. As well as saying that the Syrian Civil Defense "White Helmets" should face trial saying "Those people are criminals. They provoke, generally speaking, world powers to stoke confrontation among themselves and to detonate tensions."
